About Charitable Impact

Charitable Impact started as a bold idea and evolved quickly into an unwavering belief: everyone should have access to resources that help them build the brighter future they imagine. We provide a donor-centric giving platform, supported by a donor advised fund, that helps people amplify their generosity to create the change they want to see in the world. We simplify the giving process, allowing donors to manage all of their giving from one place, access timely tax receipts, and donate in a variety of ways including cash, publicly traded stocks, company shares, and many other options. Anyone can use it to find and give to their favourite charities from one place, give with friends and others, and get support with making their biggest impact possible. So far, Canadians across the country have donated more than one billion dollars through our platform.

We take care of each other

Our team members enjoy competitive salaries, purposeful perks, and a culture that gives back and has fun doing it. We support each other, learn from one another, and grow together. We're on an adventure to make giving an intentional and meaningful part of daily life! So, come and join us, and let's build a brighter future together.

What you’ll do

The Project Management Office (PMO) Lead will establish and oversee our Lean PMO, ensuring structured, outcome-driven software project execution, cross-functional collaboration, and operational excellence and efficiency. The PMO Lead will work closely with the COO, VP of Operations, and senior leadership to create a streamlined, efficient approach to project governance, aligning with business goals while maintaining agility. The PMO Lead thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, has the confidence to lead without ego, the strategic mindset to optimize processes, and the empathy to support teams in achieving their best work.

This role is a full-time 12-month contract (40 hrs/week) with potential for extension and/or conversion to full-time employment depending on performance and business needs.

We are a hybrid office, with team members working from home and in our Vancouver office. This role requires in-office attendance 2 times per week and availability during PST business hours. This position will collaborate with stakeholders from various time zones throughout Canada and India and will therefore require some flexibility in work hours (availability for early morning and evening meetings, Pacific Time).

Your responsibilities

Establish and lead the Lean PMO and optimize processes

  • Develop a lightweight, scalable project governance framework that enables efficiency and value delivery
  • Define project tracking mechanisms, risk management approaches, and reporting structures that provide visibility without unnecessary overhead
  • Ensure that project workflows align with business priorities and stakeholder expectations
  • Continuously assess how projects are executed and streamline workflows to improve efficiency
  • Introduce practical, data-driven decision-making to ensure project investments align with business goals
  • Implement metrics and effective reporting structures that track performance
  • Collaborate with leaders to align resourcing and capacity planning with strategic priorities

Drive cross-functional execution and collaboration

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Brand/Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure cross-departmental alignment
  • Facilitate project execution by removing blockers, clarifying priorities, and ensuring teams have what they need to deliver
  • Encourage a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement

Support adoption

  • Guide teams in adopting Agile and Lean principles, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Coach stakeholders on best practices for prioritization, backlog management, and iterative delivery
  • Champion a mindset shift from rigid processes to adaptive, outcome-driven execution

Ensure risk management & organizational resilience

  • Identify and anticipate operational risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies
  • Develop proactive mitigation strategies to ensure stability and minimize delays and disruptions
  • Support leadership in making informed trade-off decisions based on risks and business priorities

Manage and mentor the Project Management Team

  • Develop quarterly plans including team and individual metrics, goals and objectives
  • Manage and mentor direct reports to foster professional growth and support personal development
  • Nurture, develop and create strategies for developing a safe and inclusive environment for everyone on the team
  • Continuously develop new ways to engage the team and update team processes to foster healthy and effective team dynamics
  • Conduct daily huddles and biweekly one on one meetings with team members to track team growth and personal progress

What success looks like

  • Teams can deliver projects with greater speed and efficiency while maintaining quality
  • Stakeholders have clear visibility into project progress without excessive meetings or documentation
  • There is a healthy balance between structure and agility, ensuring the company remains adaptable
  • Cross-functional teams are aligned, collaborative, and focused on delivering impact
  • Risks are anticipated and mitigated, reducing delays and disruptions
  • The PMO Lead functions as an enabler, not someone who controls or owns output, creating a culture where teams can do their best work

What we're looking for

  • An objective leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, has the confidence to lead without ego, the strategic mindset to optimize processes, and the empathy to support teams in achieving their best work
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, program management, or PMO leadership, preferably in a software or technology-driven company
  • Deep understanding of software development, product lifecycle management, and operational execution
  • Experience establishing Agile, Lean, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) practices from the ground up
  • Demonstrated ability to align teams, simplify complex processes, and drive execution
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills
  • A track record of coaching teams, enabling collaboration, and fostering a culture of accountability
  • Proficiency with project and collaboration tools, including Jira, Confluence, Miro and familiarity with emerging technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs) and Large Action Models (LAMs) for enhanced workflow automation and strategic planning
  • Comfortable working at both a strategic and tactical level, knowing when to dive into the details and when to step back and guide the broader vision

Compensation

The expected starting salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000/year.

Total rewards

  • Monthly donation & volunteer matching. To encourage you to give.
  • Vacation pay. An additional 6% of your salary will be paid out on each pay cheque.
  • Flexibility. Flexible work schedules and remote work options.
