Description:

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Journeyman HVAC Technician to join our Two Rivers Lodge team in Fort St John, BC.

The Journeyman HVAC Technician is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation and dismantling of systems. Work may also include projects within the trade to install, maintain, repair and overhaul central air conditioning systems, commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and combined heating, ventilation and cooling systems.

The hourly wage for this role is $44.93 CAD. Working on a rotation of 14 days on, and 14 days off, shift is 7:00-17:30.

Responsibilities:

  • Completes timely inspections, testing and accurate reporting of equipment defects/deficiencies.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance service on HVAC and Refrigeration systems and fixtures.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance service on all kitchen appliances and equipment.
  • Provides input into the planned and scheduled work and assists with the completion of the committed schedule.
  • Assists with the scoping, estimating, planning and execution of new work or projects.
  • Ensures all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met.
  • Ensures all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes.
  • Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Journeyman Certified HVAC Refrigeration Mechanic (Red Seal) with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Approved certificates in Fall Arrest, Confined Space, and Elevated Work Platform preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent ability to read drawings and schematics
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
  • Able to read drawings and blueprints
  • Strong commitment to personal and team safety
  • Ability to build and work in a team environment is crucial
  • Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical for maintenance operations
  • Highly experienced with customer/client/user management in a 24/7 operation with a strong customer focus
  • Abilities to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools and materials
  • Basic PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Outlook
  • Professional communication skills, oral, and written
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Work well under pressure
  • Effectively solve problems
