Russel Metals is looking for an experienced Sales Representative to become part of our exciting sales team at our Saint John, NB branch. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with previous experience in a customer support and sales environment.


Roles and Responsibilities:



  • Grow the revenues and the profits in accordance with the territorial business plan.

  • Identify and maximize all sales and market development opportunities including processing and manufacturing of ferrous and non-ferrous products.

  • Ensure outstanding customer service is provided by developing rapport and strengthening relationships with key customers.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and make recommendations with respect to lost sales opportunities to continually improve upon sales results.

  • Communicate with management to ensure sufficient product is available to meet customer and branch requirements.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills in dealing with external and internal customers.


Education and Skills Required:



  • Minimum 2 years of sales experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills

  • Strong analytical, time management and organizational skills

  • Frequent travel - valid drivers license required

  • Pervious purchasing experience

  • Ability to read customer’s metal processing drawings


Assets:



  • Post-secondary education in the field of Metallurgy, Marketing, or Business Administration

  • Prior sales experience within the steel/non-ferrous industries
