The Construction Project Manager will provide support to the Retail business through leading and facilitating multiple projects that will create efficiency through process design, modification, and implementation. The PM will assess projects within Ontario, the Prairies and BC and provide support to sites in Quebec and Atlantic provinces, therefore being fluent in both French and English is a positive. The role is intended to drive further efficiencies across our network of both Company-owned and Dealer-operated sites.

The Construction Project Manager will provide support to the Retail business through leading and facilitating multiple projects that will create efficiency through process design, modification, and implementation. Responsibilities:
Retail Projects
- Lead multiple projects to drive further efficiencies across the Retail business through outlining project scope, requirements, constraints, milestones, and execute accordingly.
- Following-up on cost / schedule / scope baselines for multiple projects at the same time and pro-actively finding solutions to stay within these baselines estimated before the beginning of the project.
- Coordinate and work cross-functionally with other areas within Parkland Fuel Company to ensure project success.
- Identify areas of opportunity in order to standardize across the Retail business and proactively approach business leads.
- Liaise between Retail Operations and other relevant departments within Parkland and ensures all communication related to operational programs, policies and systems are aligned and implemented.
- Provide secondary support on additional projects as required.
- Implement operational efficiencies to automate processes.
- Document and implement best practices across Retail markets.
- Merge multiple company models through acquisitions, quick win projects vs. 2-year projects.
- Process creation, redesign and implementation to drive efficiencies and profitability.
- Standardization and simplification of existing processes where possible.
- Allow for increased access to more detailed and timely data.
- Investigate and work cross-functionally to implement automation of overly manual processes and eliminate any duplication and/or waste.
- Assist in the Retail Operations budgeting and forecasting process. Provide analytics where required to improve knowledge of industry to assist in optimizing Parkland’s Retail strategy.
- Source data from multiple channels, summarize and garner insights to allow for timely and well-informed business decisions.
- Provide analytical support to Retail Operations allowing for increased effectiveness, efficiency and knowledge base of the team.
- Create and implement scorecards and dashboards for Operational metrics and KPIs.
- Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Work with HSE department towards effective stewardship as it relates to the day-to-day operations of Parkland facilities and out teams in the field.
- 2-5 years of Construction Project Management experience skills or equivalent industry experience.
- CET, EIT or Project Management certificate an asset.
- Post-Secondary Degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience in the construction or project management field.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical, process, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid business acumen for operations, marketing, and financial models
- Must be professional and respect confidential information.
- Self-motivated and proactive to anticipate the needs of the business.
- Must be customer service oriented.
- Must be willing and able to travel mainly within central Canada.
- Petroleum installation knowledge would be beneficial.
- Understanding of legal agreements and documentation would be beneficial.
- Smartsheet Software knowledge would be beneficial, and a willingness to learn is mandatory.
