What will your typical day look like?
As a vital member of our consulting team, you will play a crucial role in delivering on client maintenance and/or operations improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle. Your day-to-day activities will involve:
Deloitte’s Smart Operations Team is dedicated to enhancing the performance of industries with capital-intensive and complex asset bases, including Mining & Metals, Energy & Chemicals, Utilities & Renewables, and Manufacturing. Through a structured approach, we assist organizations in these sectors to boost their profitability, safety, and environmental performance. Our proactive operations improvement programs focus on key areas such as maintenance, reliability, operations strategy, process automation, productivity, and cost reduction.

Total Rewards
The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $138,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program. As a vital member of our consulting team, you will play a crucial role in delivering on client maintenance and/or operations improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle. Your day-to-day activities will involve:
- Conducting analysis and assessing current and target states to drive project success.
- Developing improvement roadmaps and managing programs to ensure seamless project execution.
- Developing and implementing maintenance and operations program improvements
- Engaging with clients across various activities, providing insights and solutions tailored to their needs.
- Engagement Management: Assisting team leaders with engagement planning and scoping, gaining buy-in for proposed solutions from top management levels, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work products on time.
- Stakeholder Management: Building and maintaining strong client relationships, participating in business development activities, and actively contributing to pursuit teams and proposal content development.
- Practice Development and Eminence: Supporting the development of practical solutions and methodologies, and participating in industry and eminence events sponsored by the firm.

You are someone with:
- An undergraduate degree in Engineering, a technical field, or Business with outstanding academic credentials.
- A passion for Maintenance and Operations in Energy, Resources, and Industrials industries.
- At least 3+ years of exposure and experience in asset-intensive industries such as Mining, Oil & Gas, Power and Utilities, or other heavy industries, with a strong focus on maintenance and asset management practices and/or experience in operational roles.
- Strong operations and/or maintenance experience in these sectors.
- Recent relevant experience in Maintenance Work Management.
- Recent relevant experience in techniques such as FMECA, RCM, RCFA, Asset Hierarchy Development, Criticality Analysis, and Critical Spares Analysis.
- Experience with maintenance-related technologies such as Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and Asset Performance Management (APM).
- An understanding of digital technologies, data analytics, and AI and how these are applied to optimize business outcomes in an industrial setting.
- Recent relevant experience in Production Planning and/or Production Optimization to improve operational efficiency.
- Recent relevant experience with Integrated Operations (Integrated Ops) to streamline processes across departments.
- Familiarity with Integrated Remote Operations Centers (IROC)
- Developed analytical skills, with a track record for solving complex problems and the ability to exercise mature judgment.
- Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships with a range of clients.
- Curiosity to learn and proactivity to bring forward ideas.
- A strong sense of team and a passion for developing others as well as oneself.
- Specific experience in operations improvement, reliability improvement, or transformation program development and delivery in Mining, Oil & Gas, Power and Utilities, or similar sectors is desirable.
- Experience in consulting, utilizing structured consulting approaches/frameworks to deliver impactful solutions.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to client sites.
- Preference for candidates based in Calgary, with the legal ability to work in Canada, and the ability to enter the USA and Chile for client assignments considered an asset.
- Bilingualism in English and French is a nice-to-have, enhancing your ability to communicate effectively with a broader range of clients.
