About The Opportunity

The Crisis Response Mentor, (Youth Crisis Stabilization System) YCSS, will support the Mobile Crisis Team staff and nurture a work environment that promotes alignment with our organizational performance goals, our organizational core values, and specifically our strategic drivers of becoming youth centric centre of excellence built upon culturally responsive services and programs. The Crisis Response Mentor will be responsible to supervise daily operations of the Mobile Crisis Team and coach the team to ensure the mandate of the program is being implemented.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide orientation, training and leadership to casual staff, provide supervision and evaluate students performing practicum placements with YCSS
  • Provides mentorship and direction to Mobile Crisis Team staff, including evaluate performance, the implementation of program’s guiding principles and the completion of related administrative duties.
  • Oversee the intake, dispatch, and stabilization processes for youth experiencing crisis.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate interventions in collaboration with community resources.
  • Participate in crisis response strategies through attending dispatches, monitoring calls and providing mentorship to build upon the strengths and skills of the team.
  • Serve as point of escalation for complex or high-risk situations and engage the team with demonstrating appropriate response and coaching to build upon crisis response skillsets
  • Engage with community partners establish and nurture positive working relationships.
  • Implements annual and operational plans to ensure alignment with goals of the organization
  • Provides exemplary leadership through on-site mentorship to Mobile Crisis Team staff
  • Coordinates and supports ongoing program evaluation to ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Ensures accountability to achieve the strategic directions of the organization
  • Motivates, leads and supervises the staff reporting to the position in order to achieve organizational goals
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, hires, provides orientation to, develops and supervises employees in a manner that is consistent with the organization’s philosophy and goals
  • Coordinates and maintains reporting expectations for program
  • Monitors and responds to internal and external challenges and risks
  • Represents The Link externally and internally
  • Promotes and complies with various legislation (i.e. Workplace Safety and Health Act, Human Rights Act, Licensing Standards, Collective Bargaining Agreements)
  • Ensures that any applicable licensing standards are met and maintained
  • Collaborate with the YCSS Team by providing input to the framework of care, including intake processes, case management and service planning, discharge planning, support requests and referrals to collaterals
  • Function as a part of the overall programs and services at The Link through sharing YCSS resources and information with other programs of The Link
  • Under the direction of the Program Manager and partners in service, plan and facilitate YCSS staff meetings
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of The Link by assuming appropriate additional or assumed responsibilities as needed
  • Review Payworks, Scheduling, Overtime, Absent Management
  • Provide weekly mentorship that supports team members in building upon crisis response skills, in accordance with the Link’s crisis response framework.
  • Provide On Call Support on a rotational basis to YCSS and other Link program areas
  • Complete and submit Employee Performance Evaluations

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the history of Canada and the impacts on First Nations communities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of First Nations experiences, healing modalities, and wholistic wellness.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous supports and resources
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline
  • Combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing supervision
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within the community wellness sector
  • Strong working relationships with community organizations.
  • Demonstrated change management and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated capacity to foster alignment within leadership teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle is a requirement for this position**

SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $75,000 per annum

HOURS OF WORK: Varied shifts including: days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
