About The Role

The Director, Product has a pivotal role within our Tech organization, responsible for leading the transformation toward a product-centric operating model by establishing a Technology Product Management function. This leader will establish and drive the strategy, working with various stakeholders, and ensuring best practices, tools, methodologies, and metrics are in place for support teams through this transition

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in product management, with a proven track record of experience leading project-to-product transformation initiatives in enterprises.

What You'll Do Here

  • Develop and implement strategic vision, target operating model, and roadmap for the Project-to-Product transformation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align the strategy with overall business objectives.
  • Define and disseminate best practices, frameworks, and methodologies for product management.
  • Develop training programs and resources to support the adoption of product-centric practices.
  • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the success of the transformation and ongoing product performance.
  • Utilize data and feedback to continuously improve product management practices.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the P2P (Project-to Product) transformation.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and successes to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Identify and implement tools and technologies that support product management and agile methodologies.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in product management and agile transformations.
  • Drive change management, communication and engagement across cross-functional teams and business line leaders.
  • Provide guidance to product managers as they develop product roadmaps in alignment with broader stakeholders - software engineering, QA, business line leaders
  • Liaise with Business Office to transition our annual financial and human capital planning from project-based to product-based.
  • Partner with People/HR team to develop - career frameworks and growth paths for all product management functions.
  • Organize regular knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and product management community event

What You Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, product management, or related fields.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role, managing other leaders.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of agile methodologies, product management principles, and project management frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, influence, and drive change across all leadership levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and lead enterprise-scale change management.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Skills

  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) and product management (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner).
  • Experience in a technology-driven environment, with a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
