Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring projects adhere to departmental policies, delivery standards and governance frameworks.
- Oversees the reporting cadence and governance of CIBC Mellon’s project portfolio, ensuring accurate tracking and effective portfolio management.
- Maintains awareness of the in-flight initiatives under their portfolio including an understanding of project health and status and key accomplishments.
- Responsible for material/content preparation and updates to support portfolio executive cadence.
- Acts as a CC&D ambassador on coordinating access and engagement with our parent companies BNY and CIBC
- Acts as a catalyst for all delivery practices within CC&D promoting and communicating across various stakeholders, including:
- Bringing awareness of all new projects/programs in the pipeline or plan
- Working with the business units to prioritize projects
- Working with the business units to optimize the sequencing and timing of approved projects based on resource constraints and dependencies
- Help to support the annual capital planning process for their portfolio
- Implement changes to standard delivery practices
- Accountable for continuous improvement of delivery standard practices, including enhancement to delivery artifacts, standards and governance.
- Coordinates the annual updating and validation of the Business Continuity Plan, Records Management procedures for the team and any other CIBC Mellon regulatory action required for CC&D
- Responsible for maintaining communication vehicles such as CC&D Connected and its content
- Supports CC&D resources and portfolio reporting in Planview, in addition to managing changes and updates as required
- Identifies systemic risks in the portfolio and raises to senior leadership, if required
- Establishes strong productive relationships with key critical teams and stakeholders
- Provides guidance, support and leadership to team members and assists the Director of Delivery Excellence, as required
- Leads a team of Delivery Excellence resources, setting clear expectations, coaching, motivating, leading, providing advice and day-to-day support to staff in relation to the performance of their roles.
- Post-secondary education, with a focus on accounting, finance, information/data sciences, IT or business
- 3 to 5 years of project delivery leveraging waterfall, agile practices
- 2 to 3 years progressive experience on implementing and maintaining standards and artifacts for project delivery
- Experience as a people leader
- Strong experience collaborating/consulting with business leaders
- Strong relationship management skills building across organizational levels
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes
- Strong presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate with executives and leaders across the organization
- Detail oriented, analytical, organizational skills; managing ambiguity
- Understanding of custody, asset servicing, fund accounting, and industry regulatory requirements, is an asset
