The Hydrogen Research Institute at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in the field of lithium-ion battery parameters and state estimation. This research opportunity is part of a collaborative project involving INRS, IVI, and CNETE, focused on advancing battery technology for electric vehicles.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Develop models for internal resistance and open-circuit voltage estimation in lithium-ion batteries
  • Investigate the effects of battery aging and cold climate thermal conditions on EV performance
  • Apply machine learning and advanced modeling techniques to real-world applications
  • Participate in collaborative research with both academic and industry partners

Requirements

  • A strong background in electrical engineering, system identification, artificial intelligence, or optimization
  • Demonstrated interest in energy storage and electrified transportation research
  • Motivation and ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
