Position title: Cost Controller
Reporting to: Vice-President of Finance

The Cost Controller is responsible for overseeing and tabulating the input costs relating to the company’s departments, programs, projects, and initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Cost Monitoring & Financial Analysis
- Track and analyze product input costs to ensure consistency and financial accuracy.
- Identify cost trends and work with procurement to maintain budget stability.
- Develop cost-monitoring strategies to improve transparency and control.
- Ensure costs are properly allocated within departments for accurate financial reporting.
- Support department heads in understanding expenditures and enhancing financial accountability.
- Maintain structured cost management systems to optimize resource usage.
- Partner with department leaders and organizational stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Conduct financial analyses to recommend consolidation strategies and efficiency improvements.
- Streamline financial workflows to support business growth and operational sustainability.
- Learn how to create reports from each of our three systems to prepare reports for leadership.
- Create weekly, monthly, and quarterly tools to communicate project, program, and initiative tracking for sales, operations, and financial stakeholders.
- Scrub and map datasets from legacy systems to provide consistent and traceable results.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, and CPA designation required.
- Proven experience in cost control, budgeting, or financial analysis, preferably in the floriculture or agriculture sector.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial reporting tools and software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to engage cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
