Support a startup helping non-profits aligned with the UN SDGs

Bumima

We are a purpose-driven non-profit that funds BIPOC individuals and non-profit initiatives to launch and grow UN SDG-aligned projects that advance equity, sustainability, and community-led change.

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering other non-profits and BIPOC individuals by providing funding for projects that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); this includes initiatives focused on reducing inequalities, advancing education, promoting climate action, and creating inclusive economic opportunities—especially for historically marginalized communities.

Bumima is a financial technology platform that never accepts deposits and enables individuals—especially those in underserved or excluded populations—to access automated tools for wealth creation, financial literacy, and sustainable income growth; by securely connecting to users’ exchange accounts, our system trades on their behalf, tracks profits, and issues transparent, performance-based invoices—making financial wellness accessible, ethical, and aligned with inclusive economic empowerment.

Role (Volunteer):

Role Description: Bumima.com, also referred to as "Bumima," is a financial technology platform offering automated profitable capabilities. Our name originates from the Igbo language: "Bu" means "is" or "to be," and "Mma" translates to "good" or "beautiful." Together, "Bumima" means "I am good," "I am beautiful," or "It is well with me."

This name reflects our mission to support financial wellness, financial literacy, and educate people about safe and unsafe platforms. Our vision is to create safe and equal access to financial wellness, including for underserved populations, helping people achieve their financial aspirations and goals.

Our core service offering is financial wellness that allows profits to become tied to purpose, where our technology empowers BIPOC communities, charities, and nonprofit projects by providing free technical advice, strategic guidance, access to wealth-building tools, and facilitating donations.

As part of our mission to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Bumima is expanding its impact across the West Indies, South East Asia, and Eastern Europe. Our platform was built globally by a team working asynchronously and collaborating through virtual meetings. Our team culture is strong — many of our volunteers stay connected long-term, and we are proud to be hosting a Bumima Reunion in 2026.
