We are currently seeking a casual Life Skills Support Workers to join our team at McKim Cottage in Nelson, B.C.
What We Offer
This position is a member of a multi-disciplinary Mental Health and Addictions Team providing a comprehensive array of services within a psycho-social rehabilitation framework to adults with serious and persistent mental illness and/or within a harm reduction framework for those with substance use problems/disorders and who experience severe challenges in daily living as a result. This position will provide these services offering a variety of rehabilitative and treatment modalities inclusive of outreach, community and facility care.
Some of the Life Skills Support Worker typical duties are to provide direct care such as supportive counseling, risk assessment and crisis intervention for individuals or groups who experience severe challenges in daily living as a result of their mental illness and/or substance use problems/disorders. As well as participates in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of a treatment plan via an outreach methodology for assigned clients. Participates in team clinical reviews and consultation, psychiatric reviews and the monitoring of clients and performs other related duties as required.
Scheduling Information
Shift types are days, evenings and nights. Shift times are from 07:00 to 16:00, 11:00 to 21:00, 21:00 to 07:00 hours. This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements can vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week.
