Position Scope
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of HR activities primarily at our main Charlottetown office/manufacturing site with some travel required to our Moncton branch office location. HR activities would include recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll administration, and compliance. This role requires a self-starter who can work independently while maintaining strong communication with our corporate HR team based in BC.

HR activities would include recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll administration, and compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding:
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, which includes job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Register for, attending, and representing the company at career fairs and recruitment events.
- Coordinate and conduct new employee orientations, as well as overseeing the onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
- Collaborate with hiring managers on-site to facilitate a seamless recruitment process.
- Oversee the offboarding process, which involves conducting exit interviews and preparing reports for further action.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and issues and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Address employee concerns and conflicts by conducting investigations when necessary.
- Foster a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives.
- HR Compliance:
- Stay current with federal and provincial employment laws and regulations to ensure all HR activities remain compliant.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness across the organization.
- Payroll Administration:
- Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Address and resolve payroll, compensation, and benefits inquiries and discrepancies promptly.
- HR Records & Reporting:
- Maintain and update employee records, benefits documentation, HR databases, and policy files.
- Analyze HR data and prepare reports, including headcount, retention, and organizational charts.
- Use data-driven insights to support HR decision-making and strategic planning.
- Training Support and Event Coordination:
- Provide support in organizing and tracking employee training activities.
- Assist in organizing corporate events, such as long service award ceremonies, team-building activities, and employee-led social team activities.
- HR Services & Support:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, offering guidance and resolution.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of progressive experience in HR, including experience with hiring foreign workers and managing Labour Market Impact Assessments (LMIA).
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite and proven experience with HRIS systems.
- This is an on-site position based in Charlottetown, with occasional travel to the Moncton satellite office as needed for operations.
- Regular communication and coordination with the HR manager in BC are required.
- Some travel may be necessary for recruitment events or training sessions.
- Candidates with more experience may be considered for the position of HR Generalist.
