About The Role
This is a great opportunity to join our dynamic nursing team and enjoy flexible working arrangements whilst maintaining your specialist skills.
We are seeking applications from general and specialised Enrolled Nurses to join the Aged Care, Surgical, Medical and Emergency teams at Hamilton Base Hospital and/or Aged Care sites in Hamilton, Coleraine and Penshurst.
WDHS Acute Services
The WDHS Medical Unit is located on the ground floor of the Hamilton Hospital. The unit contains 23 beds including six (6) sub-acute (rehabilitation). Co-located within the Medical Unit are the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department, Oncology and Rehabilitation Units.
The Surgical Unit presents an opportunity for surgical nursing experience in both short stay and same day surgery, acute care and surgical patients. The Surgical Unit provides a wide range of procedures such as endoscopy, urology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, bariatric surgery, ENT and general surgery.
This is a 32 bed Surgical Department with staff demonstrating a strong commitment to upholding patient centred care.
The Emergency Department is located adjacent to the Medical/Intensive Care Unit and Medical Imaging (x-ray) Department to streamline emergency care. The Unit is staffed to provide 24-hour access for members of the community requiring emergency care and has been designated a Regional Trauma Service by the Victorian Department of Human Services.
WDHS Aged Care Services
The Penshurst Nursing Home provides permanent accommodation for 19 residents. It offers nursing care to the frail, elderly and disabled in our community. The facility offers shared and single rooms and provides an environment of comfort, dignity and security. Kolor Lodge Hostel is part of Penshurst District Health Service and provides permanent and respite accommodation for 10 residents. It offers low level care to the elderly and disabled in our community. Read more
Coleraine provides permanent and respite accommodation for residents and offers low level care to the elderly and disabled in our community. The Coleraine District Health Service compromises of Wannon Court Hostel and Valley View Nursing Home. Valley View Nursing Home which provides permanent accommodation for 12 residents and offers nursing care to the frail, elderly and disabled and Wannon Hostel with 39 beds. Read more
The Grange Residential Care Services provides permanent and respite accommodation for 50 residents and offers nursing care to the frail, elderly and disabled in our community. Read more
The Birches provides permanent and respite accommodation for 44 residents, including 1 Sub-Acute Palliative Care bed. The Birches offers nursing care to the frail, elderly and disabled in our community. Read more
The successful applicants will have current registration with AHPRA as a registered nurse, demonstrated competency in clinical practice and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, while providing high quality nursing care.
Evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development will be highly regarded. Those with a relevant post graduate qualification or previous experience are encouraged to apply.

Dependant on your position you may be required to obtain a Working with Children Check Clearance, Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme check and / or NDIS Worker Screening Check.
