The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Sun – Dayshift/Nightshift rotational to support ward.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Medical services at the QEUH for a highly motivated Charge Nurse to provide leadership and ensure that high quality, safe, effective, person centred care in our Acute Cardiology ward. On a daily basis you will be expected to lead the wider team supporting effective care planning and safe discharge. You will ensure appropriate learning opportunities are available for all staff, encouraging best practice to deliver a high quality of patient care at all times in line with NHS GGC Care Assurance Standards. You will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse for clinical guidance & professional management. As Charge Nurse the candidate will have responsibility for the management of the ward and delivery of care assurance standards in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. You will demonstrate that you have effective leadership, communication and organisational skills. Evidence of personal development will be expected with a willingness to contribute to education and audit at ward level. A good understanding and knowledge of policy, procedures and local/national priorities will be required to support the team.
