Our Global Wealth Management Technology – Portfolio Management Team is hiring a Project Lead Development role. This role will be part of a team who is responsible for Reporting & Fee Billing of Wealth Portfolios, and serves the customers of all Wealth business lines, including Scotia McLeod, Private Investment Council and Scotia Trust. The team is known for excellence in delivery and support of many critical Advisor facing and back-office applications.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
Project Delivery
- Plan and Manage Project deliveries of multiple initiatives and strategic projects.
- Facilitate the Agile Ceremonies for multiple initiatives.
- Organize and manage the Jira/Kanban board for all initiatives.
- Coach the development team and help lead and insure the “agile mindset” is fully adopted and understood
- Inculcate core agile values of focus, commitment, respect, openness and courage into the team’s ground rules through leading by example
- Encourage an environment where open communication and collaborative problem solving can pave the way for faster removal of any impediments and where the impact of mistakes can be minimized through early detection, making them into learning opportunities
- Review, manage and coordinate with IT Finance/PD&S teams on allocations and invoices generated for vendor work efforts and internal efforts for all initiatives.
- Release planning, coordination and deployments in various environment (IST, UAT, Prod).
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues like scope creep that could impact project or service delivery by maintaining RAID log for various initiatives.
- Prepare various documentation for project i.e. diagram, critical path, project plan, risk logs, status reports, etc.
- Build, Enhance and Manage service (ITSM) dashboard using ServiceNow tool.
- Track and manage delivery of SLA/SLO for incidents, requests and initiatives on timely manner.
- Make sure required process flows, runbooks, playbooks etc. are maintained from time to time.
- Assist with application portfolio management (APM) to ensure that applications stay up to date and risks are identified and managed on timely manner.
- Track and mange mitigation of IT/SW currency risk items
- Follow continuous improvement principles to improve service delivery and make it more efficient and productive.
- Maintaining clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including regular updates on project status and progress.
- Identify and communicate any impediments with practical solutions to Sr. management and stakeholders.
- Being Proactive vs Reactive.
- Work with already established mature team members, adapt to team norms, culture and dynamic.
- Willing to adopt, practice agile, Kanban and scrum principles. Utilize Kanban board to manage workflow
- Engage, inspire, and cultivate high performing team culture.
- Collaborate with team members in-person and virtually from different regions in Canada and India.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders like product owner, business lines and QA team.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- 5+ years’ IT industry experience with Technical Project delivery.
- 3 to 5+ years’ experience with service deliveries and familiar with ITSM process.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience with project delivery.
- Hands on experience with MS Office Suite i.e., MS Outlook, MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project
- Hands-on experience with designing and managing dashboard using tool like Power BI, Tableau etc.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field.
- Scrum Certification, Project Management or PMI certification
- Wealth/financial industry exposure or Exposure to wealth products
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and Service Now
- Familiarity with Agile, Kanban methodology and Continuous Improvement mindset.
- Familiarity with SDLC, architecture review, operational readiness and change management process.
