We're looking for our very first Payment Operations Specialist to help shape the backbone of our payments function. In this hands-on, high-impact role, you’ll partner with our Director of Payments & Compliance to drive day-to-day operations while building the processes that will scale with us.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Oversee daily operations like merchant onboarding, transaction reviews, payouts, chargebacks, and fraud flags
- Conduct compliance and risk reviews for new merchants and nonprofit organizations
- Create training materials and resources to help the team understand payment workflows
- Monitor payment activity for fraud, policy violations, or non-compliance issues
- Partner with Sales, Support, Success, and Product to troubleshoot and improve payment-related processes
- Help document and refine scalable workflows for risk, compliance, and platform operations
- Support PCI-DSS, SOC 2, and other audit and certification efforts
- Maintain dashboards, reports, and metrics to track operational performance and drive improvement
What we want from you:
- 2+ years of experience in payment processing operations, fintech, merchant onboarding, compliance, or related areas.
- A solid understanding of core payment processing operations: onboarding, transaction monitoring, chargebacks, and fraud detection.
- Great organizational skills and attention to detail—you’re confident working with structured processes, documents, and data.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French, both written and verbal. You can translate complexity into clarity.
- A builder’s mindset: you like to streamline processes, write documentation, and bring order to chaos.
- Experience with platforms like Paysafe, CardConnect, Stripe, Adyen, Moneris, Global Payments, etc.
