Strategic Account Specialist- Consumer

This is a hybrid role based in Mississauga, ON.

Summary

Customer facing inside sales role responsible for assigned Retail accounts, including revenue, margin and breadth growth, through customer contact, sales and service; accountable for customer satisfaction, revenue generation, goal achievement and long-term business goals in line with D&H’s vision and values; with responsibility to lead team by providing guidance on day-to-day needs and help on system and transactional questions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales goal, forecast and attainment, including the achievement of revenue and post freight margin goals.
  • Responsible for setting the price of products for bids, quotes and deals requested by customers while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Work with vendor reps, BU’s, and all supporting departments, to build specific vendor sales and to grow the revenue and sales breadth within assigned customer base.
  • Promptly answer phone & email to respond to all customer requests; promptly return all phone messages within SLA.
  • Attend sales and product trainings.
  • Attend trade shows and events to meet with retailers in person, as needed.
  • Project a professional company image through customer and vendor interactions.
  • Process and maintain customer transaction through ERP sales platform.
  • Adhere to all company policies procedures and ethics including company attendance policy.
  • Attend team huddles, team meetings, and collaborate with team members.
  • Work with Decision Makers, Sales Management, Field Reps, BU’s, and vendors to develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships throughout the customer organizations.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

Education

  • College education preferred and/or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience dealing with Major Retailers (Staples, Best Buy, Costco, London Drugs, Walmart)
  • Sales and/or technical certifications a plus
  • Ability to co-ordinate promotional programs with vendors and action with retailers.
  • Proven experience in demand planning and forecasting, working collaboratively with procurement.
