Role description:
Arcadis Canada is seeking senior scientists and engineers with interest and experience in environmental radiation, science, and engineering to support and advance radiological science and practical applications and innovation across a wide variety of projects in the nuclear fuel cycle, from mining through waste management and new reactors. Our team also services and supports innovation for managing NORM, mining, and industry.
Our vision is for our team to become globally recognized as Canada’s pre-eminent advisor on environmental radiological issues with a focus on nuclear fuel cycle activities from mining through to new nuclear, naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM), and industrial applications of radioactivity.
The successful candidate can be located anywhere in Canada, with the flexibility to work remotely. Occasional travel may be required for project-related needs.
We are looking for highly-motivated candidates with excellent technical, report-writing and interpersonal skills. You will support the further development of a team of professionals working on a variety of different projects within the Rad-Risk Group among them,

The salary range for this position is $114,000-212,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

We are looking for highly-motivated candidates with excellent technical, report-writing and interpersonal skills. You will support the further development of a team of professionals working on a variety of different projects within the Rad-Risk Group among them,
- Strategic Advice,
- Regulatory Licensing and Compliance,
- Hazard, Risk and Safety Assessments (Radiological and Chemical),
- Radiation Shielding Assessments,
- Impact Assessments (including Human Health and Ecological Risk Assessments (HHERA) and public and Indigenous communications),
- Radiological Monitoring and Survey Plans, and,
- Radiation Protection Program Management and Oversight.
Role accountabilities:
- Take responsibility for quality processes on projects and reports.
- Take a leading role in business development and assist with the preparation of proposals, including scope, work plan, corporate qualifications, budget and schedule.
- Be outward facing and help to further develop the recognition of Arcadis as a leader in radiological sciences and engineering.
- Provide technical leadership and/or support on project activities including but not limited to environmental data analysis and interpretation, reviewing and writing technical reports for clients and government as well as non-technical documents for members of the public, providing a Quality Review Function, coordinating of project budgets and schedules.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Radiation Science, Nuclear Science and Engineering, Health Physics, Engineering, or similar field. Master’s or Ph.D. Degree in Science, Radiation Science, Nuclear Science and Engineering, Health Physics, Engineering, or similar field, preferred.
- Candidate will have a minimum of 15 years’ experience working in a related field and 5+ years’ of experience in radiological sciences and engineering.
