The Role

Work alongside our Development Team and other QA Team members where you will have the opportunity to shape and implement the technology and product deliverables to drive forward Solink’s Product. Your main focus will be testing new and existing Device Infrastructure hardware and software features, creating and maintaining test plans for the Device Infrastructure Team, and ensuring high quality throughout the development lifecycle. As gatekeepers of quality, you will increase test coverage, optimize testing with strategic approaches, and proactively identify and mitigate quality risks to deliver a reliable product to our customer.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead QA Strategy for Device Infrastructure: Own and drive all testing activities across the Device Infrastructure team, ensuring thorough test coverage, high product quality, and efficient release cycles.
  • Execute Full-Stack Testing: Conduct manual and automated functional, non-functional, and regression testing across frontend, backend, and device layers to validate reliability, performance, and user experience.
  • Validate Hardware & Firmware: Ensure seamless compatibility between new hardware, firmware updates, and application workflows—capturing both functional correctness and edge-case behaviors.
  • Design End-to-End Test Plans: Develop comprehensive test strategies, including E2E test cases across multiple environments and configurations, based on risk, coverage, and complexity.
  • Drive Automation Strategy: Define what to automate and how—leading the creation and integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to improve test repeatability, speed, and scalability.
  • Build & Maintain Test Automation: Design, write, and maintain test scripts using Python and Playwright to support automated validation across device workflows and web interfaces.
  • Collaborate Early & Often: Partner with developers and product managers to understand feature requirements, create aligned test cases, and provide feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Own Bug Lifecycle: Identify, document, prioritize, and verify defects, while managing QA risks and mitigation plans with urgency and clarity.
  • Gain Product Expertise: Develop deep knowledge of Solink’s SaaS platform and device ecosystem, testing from the perspectives of customers, support teams, and account setup specialists.
  • Mentor Junior Testers: Share your expertise and provide hands-on guidance to junior QA team members—helping them grow in testing methodology, execution, and quality mindset.
  • Explore Creatively: Perform exploratory testing using inventive, unpredictable methods to uncover hard-to-find issues before customers do.
  • Continuously Improve QA: Evaluate and evolve QA tools, workflows, and best practices to enhance test coverage, team efficiency, and product reliability over time.

What You Bring

  • QA Veteran in IoT Environments: You bring 5+ years of hands-on experience in both manual and automated testing across software and hardware systems, particularly within IoT ecosystems.
  • Backend & API Testing Pro: You have a strong foundation in backend functional testing, including robust experience validating APIs. You’re also skilled in non-functional testing like performance, load, and stress testing for both software and devices.
  • Python-Capable: You’re confident using Python to build test scripts and streamline QA processes, applying your coding skills where automation adds the most value.
  • Linux Fluent: You’re comfortable navigating Linux environments, running commands, analyzing logs, and troubleshooting issues directly on servers.
  • Video Tech-Savvy: You have experience in video streaming, video development, or pipeline testing, giving you insight into complex media workflows.
  • Cloud-Aware: You understand how AWS supports modern SaaS and IoT applications, and you know how cloud infrastructure impacts test planning and execution.
  • Strategic Test Planner: You’ve designed, reviewed, and executed detailed test strategies—accounting for risk, coverage, and release cadence—and are experienced leading tests independently from planning to execution.
  • Balanced & Methodical: You’re equally passionate about manual and automated testing and know how to assess which approach delivers the highest ROI in each scenario.
  • Positive & Driven: You bring a strong work ethic, a “can-do” mindset, and a genuine passion for building high-quality systems. You take initiative and own your outcomes.
  • Team-Oriented Communicator: You’re an excellent collaborator with strong interpersonal and communication skills, unafraid to offer candid feedback and advocate for quality in cross-functional settings.
  • Analytical & Detail-Focused: You approach testing with precision, critical thinking, and an eye for edge cases—ensuring issues are caught early and addressed thoroughly.
  • Always Learning: You’re excited by new tools, eager to adapt to emerging technologies, and constantly seeking ways to improve your craft.
  • Educated & Experienced: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field—or have built equivalent experience through meaningful, applied work.
