This role involves leading maintenance strategies, overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and mentoring junior maintenance staff. Duties
The Senior Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all plant equipment and systems. This role involves leading maintenance strategies, overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and mentoring junior maintenance staff. The engineer plays a key role in continuous improvement initiatives and supports capital projects. Other duties include:
- Equipment Maintenance and Fault Management
- Develop preventive maintenance plans (PM) for critical equipment, including die-casting machines, CNC machining centers, and robotic welding lines, to minimize mean time to repair (MTTR). Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for complex equipment failures and implement failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) to reduce repetitive downtime incidents.
- Equipment Optimization and Automation
- Oversee equipment upgrade initiatives, such as transitioning legacy hydraulic presses to servo-driven systems, to enhance energy efficiency and production performance. Collaborate with the automation team to integrate robotic and vision inspection systems, thereby advancing the realization of "unmanned workshops."
- Introduction and Standardization of New Technologies
- Assess and introduce cutting-edge technologies within the industry, such as high-pressure die-casting islands and laser cleaning systems, while preparing comprehensive technical feasibility reports. Develop standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for global equipment operation and maintenance and provide training to local teams.
- Cost and Supplier Management
- Manage the equipment maintenance budget effectively and optimize spare parts inventory through ABC classification methodology. Engage in technical negotiations for equipment procurement and evaluate supplier proposals from leading vendors such as Fanuc and ABB.
- Cross-departmental Collaboration
- Support equipment selection processes for new projects by aligning with product process requirements. Work closely with the quality assurance department to address and resolve customer complaints related to equipment performance.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, electrical automation, mechatronics, or related fields
- More than eight years of professional experience, including involvement in cross-border projects (e.g., equipment coordination across factories in China, the United States, and Europe) or comprehensive line renovations.
- Proficient in PLC debugging (Siemens/Mitsubishi), CNC system configuration, and foundational knowledge of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
