Job Summary

As a fiber drop foreman, you will be responsible for the safety and high-quality work that meets expected deadlines. We're looking for someone who can safely provide high-quality work while working efficiently. This job will require the ability to travel for work. It can be physically demanding and may require 8 – 10-hour days in various weather conditions.

What You Will Be Doing

Oversee a team of 6 to 10 people, planning drop locations and paths, assigning work activities and executing the work.

Operate a small directional drill (8x10 or JT5) to place conduit on private property up to the customer’s home.

Establish responsibility and care for company equipment through preventative and ongoing maintenance.

Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting safely.

Operate a small vibratory plow (SPX25) to place conduit on private property up to the customer’s home.

Pull fiber cable in after conduit installation.

Complete and maintain all required paperwork and documentation and ensure all Customer approvals are done before the crew shows up to complete work.

Operate motor vehicles and trailers, properly secure equipment, transport it to the work site, and safely offload.

Ensure effective use of time, materials, fuel, and equipment.

What We Are Looking For

A minimum of 3+ years experience in the same field within the construction industry.

Experience in shallow utility installation on private property

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

Strong organizational and presentation skills.

Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to operational challenges.

Experience leading diverse teams.

Experience working with fiber optics is an asset.

The ideal candidate must be punctual at all times.

Ability to manage a physically demanding job that involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights, and in confined spaces as well as the ability to travel for work.

Ability to drive and operate the equipment under varying working conditions.

Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions, give direction, adapt to change, and establish relationships.

Must be mechanically inclined.
