JOB SUMMARY:
The Writer/Translator II produces, translates and updates game-related texts and documentation for the PX, Technology and Marketing departments, in respect to a high level of quality and standards.
Serving various departments in several offices across North America, he or she is accustomed to different writing styles, has excellent writing skills (particularly in English) and has work experience in a multidisciplinary and creative environment.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Writer/Translator II produces, translates and updates game-related texts and documentation for the PX, Technology and Marketing departments, in respect to a high level of quality and standards.
Serving various departments in several offices across North America, he or she is accustomed to different writing styles, has excellent writing skills (particularly in English) and has work experience in a multidisciplinary and creative environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Under minimal supervision and in collaboration with all trades involved, writes, maintains and translates documents and contents relating to assigned projects.
- Collaborates with project managers in establishing and maintaining writing and documentation procedures and standards.
- When assigned to a game project, tests games throughout the development process until their completion, and validates the accuracy of all text contents and game rules in a language geared towards the casino gaming industry.
- Works closely with the QA department to ensure compliance with text consistency standards and certification labs.
- Creates, updates, translates and manages the various documents submitted, in French and English.
- Other projects and duties as assigned by the manager.
- College diploma (DEC) or bachelor’s degree in writing/translation or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in writing/translating.
- Highly proficient in both French and English, with a particular expertise in English writing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the Office suite and Teams.
- Knowledge of management software (Easy Redmine, Jira…).
- Able to work as part of a team or independently.
- Good knowledge of the casino game industry.
- Comfortable using computer-assisted translation and/or Web site translation plug-in tools.
- Experience in a game development environment.
- Very good interpersonal and adaptability skills.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Depending on the position, may have to travel locally, nationally or internationally
