The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing end-to-end logistics operations, including inbound and outbound shipments, customs compliance, carrier coordination, and documentation accuracy. The Specialist, Logistics ensures the timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of goods while maintaining high service levels and operational flow. This position exists to support Pure Sunfarms’ commitment to operational excellence, global collaboration, and continuous improvement in supply chain efficiency. Education
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing end-to-end logistics operations, including inbound and outbound shipments, customs compliance, carrier coordination, and documentation accuracy. KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Logistics Operations Management (Inbound, Outbound & Global)
- Oversee the coordination, scheduling, and execution of all inbound and outbound shipments, both domestic and international, ensuring on-time, accurate, and cost-effective delivery.
- Prepare and verify all customs and export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, CERS ad CARM declarations) to meet regulatory and customer-specific requirements.
- Assign and manage carriers for all shipments based on service level, destination, and cost, while maintaining effective relationships with 3PL providers and freight forwarders.
- Coordinate customs arrangements and ensure compliance for both export and import shipments, including working with vendors to validate documentation and ensure smooth border clearance.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory movements to ensure alignment between physical stock and system data.
- Ensure order preparation accuracy and timely dispatch to meet service level expectations.
- Audit freight and invoices, challenge discrepancies, and validate logistics costs against agreed terms.
- Support logistics coordinators through task prioritization, coaching, and day-to-day oversight.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams (production, planning, procurement, finance) to anticipate logistics needs, resolve issues, and maintain end-to-end visibility across the supply chain.
- Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes to drive efficiency, service quality, and cost savings across the operation.
- Ensure seamless continuity in the physical and informational flow of goods, orders, inventory, and transactions.
- Actively track and follow up on process blockers, working cross-functionally to resolve delays and ensure movement.
- Maintain full visibility and traceability across the order-to-delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure all stakeholders are aligned on their responsibilities and timelines.
- Enter customer orders into the shared files only after validating data accuracy (e.g., dates, quantities, SKUs).
- Review delivery documents to detect and resolve discrepancies.
- Supervise and ensure timely and accurate processing of return shipments.
- Validate that ERP system transactions (receipts, shipments, adjustments, transfers) are completed correctly and in real time

Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain , Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- CSCP certification considered an asset
- 5 years of logistics or supply chain operations experience, with a focus on international shipping and customs compliance.
- Experience working with ERP systems, 3PL providers, and freight forwarders is required.
- Deep understanding of domestic and international logistics processes, documentation, and compliance requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in data and shipments.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and logistics documentation management.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments and external partners.
- Ability to lead daily tasks and support junior team members.
