Casual Position
12 Hour Shifts and Visit Nursing
The Ottawa Branch of Bayshore Home Care Solutions is proud to partner with CHEO on providing care and support to children and their families who are in need of nursing services in their homes. This position will be a casual position requiring at least 3 shifts per week and every second weekend. Shift and community visit nursing on a biweekly basis.
We are currently seeking nurses specializing in pediatrics to support children by providing consistent long-term shifts in their homes. The shifts will be 12 hours, currently requiring 07:00 am to 7:00 pm. Care will be required 7 days a week, and therefore there will be the requirement of weekday and weekend shifts. You will be rewarded by witnessing the joy of children who are able to stay at home for care rather than be in the hospital. In addition to working with pediatric children, your schedule will be complimented with community visit nursing hours with patients of all ages.

You have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing with a Registered Practical Nurse Certification

Your day will be dedicated to the wellness of the child you are supporting. Special skills required are:
- Enteral Feeding
- C-Pap/Bipap
- Oxygen Assistance
- As the primary care planner to your clients, you have the autonomy and flexibility to provide a holistic approach to care while providing a child the opportunity to thrive in their home environment
- Provide client care by utilizing the skills of observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching; nurse in charge in the setting and, if required, to the immediate Supervisor at the branch office
- Provide care according to the established care plan ensuring that, on an ongoing basis, the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent; care must be within the scope of practice of a Licensed/Registered Practical Nurse
- Perform routine nursing duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and Standards of Nursing Practice as defined by the provincial licensing body
- Perform specialized nursing procedures for which recognized training and current competency can be demonstrated
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities
- Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
- You hold a current nursing license in good standing with CNO
- You have at least two years of nursing experience. (community experience would be an asset)
- You have proof of a current negative TB test (within the last year)
- You must have a valid G class driver’s license and continuous access to a registered vehicle
- You have a current/clear vulnerable sector check
- You possess excellent assessment, documentation, verbal, and communication skills
