Dev Ops Engineer (contract)

Capgemini is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will work closely with the Team Lead to design, implement, and support infrastructure for one of the world’s largest social media platforms, handling over one billion events per day. The role includes owning end-to-end DevOps solutions, collaborating across teams, and contributing to architectural decisions and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of automation frameworks and tools
• Prepare and approve functional and design specs
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables
• Own and mitigate risks, troubleshoot crisis issues
• Drive code quality via reviews and standards creation
• Identify and implement functional/technical improvements
• Collaborate across teams and maintain project communication
• Constantly upgrade technical knowledge and skillsets
  
  

Required Qualifications

Python/CI-CD pipeline/Github action - Hands on exp with these is ESSENTIAL

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent
• 4+ years in DevOps/Infrastructure Engineering
• Strong programming with Python
• Strong Linux/Unix/BSD internals knowledge
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems
• Proficient in MySQL, Hadoop, Envoy, HAProxy, Nginx
• Experience with Kafka, Apache Airflow, Memcache, ElasticSearch, ZooKeeper, HBase
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Agile team environment experience

• Experience with C++
• Familiarity with Bazel and Docker
• Prior experience deploying to cloud (AWS preferred)
• Experience working in service-oriented architecture environments
