As a PSW with Home Instead, you'll provide personalized care that helps older adults live safely and comfortably in their own homes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with daily living and personal care tasks like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Creating moments of meaningful companionship through connection and social interaction.
- Supporting safe mobility and fall prevention through confident transfer assistance and positioning.
- Providing medication reminders in alignment with client care plans.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and supportive home environment with light housekeeping, meal prep, and transportation.
- A PSW certificate, nursing background, or equivalent experience in caregiving.
- A valid Ontario driver’s license (G2/G) and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Proven ability to build trust, connect with clients, and respond with empathy and clarity.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confidence and experience in dementia care or complex care situations.
