The Role
We are looking for a strategic, execution-focused Chief of Staff to serve as the right hand to our CEO. This is not an EA role—it’s an operational, high-leverage position for someone who thrives on driving clarity, alignment, and outcomes across a fast-growing organization. As Chief of Staff, you will be part strategist, part operator, and part trusted advisor, acting as a force multiplier to ensure the CEO’s time and focus align with the company’s most critical priorities.
What You’ll Do
- Strategic Partner to the CEO: Act as a force multiplier—collaborating closely with the CEO to drive strategic priorities, operationalize vision, and translate ideas into action.
- Cross-Functional Program Leader: Manage high-impact initiatives across departments from inception to execution, ensuring alignment, momentum, and measurable business outcomes.
- Strategic Planning Facilitator: Lead the company’s planning cycles, including setting and tracking OKRs, managing business review cadences, and aligning teams on long-term goals.
- Accountability Driver: Keep the leadership team focused and on track by following up on key action items, highlighting risks, and surfacing insight-driven recommendations.
- Comms & Content Owner: Prepare polished, high-impact materials for internal and external stakeholders—including board decks, investor updates, executive summaries, and team-wide communications.
- Special Projects Owner: Lead mission-critical initiatives that touch GTM, Product, Finance, and Ops—filling strategic gaps and executing on priorities that don’t fall neatly into a single function.
- Issue Anticipator & Unblocker: Proactively identify challenges, flag misalignments early, and clear roadblocks before they become execution risks.
- Culture Amplifier: Be a steward of Solink’s values. Help ensure culture, clarity, and communication scale alongside the business.
Must-Have:
- Strategic Operator: You bring 4+ years of experience in high-performance, fast-paced environments—such as investment banking, consulting, strategy, VC-backed startups, or corporate development. You thrive in ambiguity and drive clarity through action.
- Executive-Level Communicator: You have strong executive presence and know how to influence without authority. You communicate clearly, confidently, and with purpose—whether in board meetings or hallway conversations.
- Bias for Action: You don’t just strategize—you execute. You’re energized by fast-moving environments and are known for turning ideas into results with urgency and precision.
- Cross-Functional Leader: You’ve led initiatives across teams by building relationships and aligning stakeholders, not by title. You’re the connective tissue between functions.
- Strategic + Tactical Thinker: You shift fluidly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. You can zoom out to assess priorities and zoom in to write a plan, draft a doc, or unblock a project.
- Analytical Writer: You’re a structured thinker and a clear communicator. Your writing is concise and persuasive, and your insights shape discussions at the highest levels.
- Location-Ready: You’re based in Ottawa or willing to travel regularly to collaborate in person with Solink’s executive team when needed.
- Prior Chief of Staff or founder experience.
- Experience working directly with a CEO or senior leadership team.
- A background in SaaS, marketplaces, or operationally complex business models.
- You excel in fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities shift and problems aren’t always clearly defined.
- You’re a proactive operator who takes ownership, follows through, and drives outcomes—without needing a playbook.
- You think in systems, love turning chaos into clarity, and bring structure where it’s most needed.
- You’re energized by working closely with executive leadership and aren’t afraid to ask tough questions or challenge the status quo.
- You care deeply about company culture and want to play a meaningful role in scaling it intentionally.
- You bring sound judgment, discretion, and the trustworthiness to be a true thought partner to senior leaders.
- You’re hungry for a role that will accelerate your career—and you’re ready to earn that growth through impact.
This isn’t a traditional support role or a job with neatly defined tasks. It’s a high-impact, high-trust position designed for someone who thrives in ambiguity and drives clarity at the executive level.
This role is not for you if:
- You prefer clearly defined tasks over solving unstructured, ambiguous problems.
- You're uncomfortable challenging ideas, managing up, or influencing without authority.
- You view the Chief of Staff as a behind-the-scenes support function rather than a leadership amplifier.
- You wait for direction instead of proactively identifying and solving the most critical issues.
- You're seeking a predictable, 9-to-5 role without urgency, rapid change, or accountability for outcomes.
- You’re not excited about diving into the business across GTM, product, operations, finance, and people to understand where to add leverage.
- Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;
- Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;
- Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.
We do things the Solink way:
- Act with URGENCY – Our customers move fast, so we do too.
- Deliver with QUALITY – We sweat the details and hold a high bar.
- Win with TEAM – No egos. Just outcomes, built together.
- Lead with TRUST – We earn it through clarity, consistency, and care.
Why Solink?
We’re not just building tech - we’re building a place where great people do great work.
- Clarity and trust: Where the role allows, we support flexibility in how and where work gets done - and we’re upfront about what’s required.
- Meaningful equity: Every full-time, permanent employee has a stake in our growth.
- Comprehensive benefits: Fully paid health & dental (no waiting period) + $500 health spending account.
- Wellness support: Monthly reimbursement for fitness, wellness, or mental health programs.
- Growth through merit: Advancement is based on contribution, initiative, and the ability to raise the bar - together.
- Candid culture: Clear expectations, honest feedback, and no politics.
- Social connection: From So-learns to Solink-o and So-lunches, we stay connected in ways that actually feel fun.
We respect your time and value transparency. Here’s what to expect:
- Intro call with an Executive Leader
- Interview with Executive Leader
- Role-relevant task or case (if applicable)
- Final interviews with cross-functional team members
- Offer & onboarding
