Job Summary

The IT Support Technician I is responsible for the management of the workstations fleet, from a software and hardware perspective.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Deploys equipment for new members of the team.
  • Acknowledges and responds to Help Desk requests as needed with the ticketing system.
  • Identifies and resolves software and hardware configuration issues.
  • Maintains the fixed assets inventory system up to date.
  • Maintains IT equipment security within its deployments.
  • Monitors computer systems to improve performance and makes recommendations for improvements and modifications.
  • Ensures the management of warranties and related claims
  • Mentors and trains lower-level staff.
  • Creates and documents processes.
  • Ensures 24/7 operational service level via on-call duty.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Required Skills And Experience

  • College degree in Information Technology or diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in Computer Support or relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of various types of hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in French and English at a high level.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work individually and collaboratively within a team.

Assets

  • CompTIA A+ or MS Windows Server and Windows Client, preferred.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:      

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.      
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.      
  • Depending on the position, may have to travel locally, nationally or internationally.
