About the Role

EfficiencyOne is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Project Manager, Continuous Improvement, to lead and support initiatives that drive foundational change across our Efficiency Nova Scotia programs. In this role, you will manage and execute improvement projects that enhance our internal processes, foster staff engagement, and deliver better customer outcomes.


  • Project Management: Develop, manage, and oversee detailed project plans for various continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Execution and Delivery: Directly lead project tasks, including research, stakeholder consultations, budgeting, scenario development, and developing recommendations.
  • Staff Engagement: Facilitate collaboration across departments through communication, strategic discussions, and working groups. Lead change management efforts to support the adoption of continuous improvement projects.
  • Framework Implementation: Support the rollout and advancement of an organization-wide continuous improvement framework.
  • Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (e.g., Information and Analytics, Change and Process Excellence) and external stakeholders to evaluate and implement changes.
  • Communication & Documentation: Communicate the overarching vision of continuous improvement and contribute to developing tools, practices, and procedures.
  • Monitoring: Track and report progress against defined objectives and targets.
  • Additional Projects: Contribute to other initiatives as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading projects from planning through execution.
  • Minimum 2 years working on energy efficiency, electricity demand reduction, small-scale renewables, or climate change mitigation programs.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.


Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in developing and/or implementing process improvement changes.
    • Stakeholder engagement (internal or external), by seeking feedback, asking questions, and objectively assessing inputs from a variety of sources.
    • Experience in completing detailed research and analysis, considering various inputs and opinions, drafting options, and developing recommendations to solve specific problems.
    • Comprehensive understanding of Efficiency Nova Scotia programs, including how they relate to each other and the overarching goal of customers completing upgrades or changing their behaviour.

What to expect in your first several weeks on the job:

In the two weeks, expect to:

  • Meet the Senior Director, Information and Analytics (I&A) and other members of the I&A team.
  • Familiarize yourself with EfficiencyOne’s culture, practices, and procedures.
  • Review details of the Customer-Lens Program Design Principles project and Phase One Assessment report and documentation.

In the first month, expect to:

  • Assess the findings of the Phase One Assessment report and begin drafting a project plan to implement the recommendations.
  • Meet with leaders and employees across the organization to discuss the draft plan and obtain their feedback on the timing, approach, etc.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of core current-state business processes.
  • Develop a high-level plan for the first 90 days in your role.
  • Draft your individual goals and objectives and discuss performance expectations.


In the first three months, expect to:

    • Develop and receive approval on a detailed project plan to implement Phase One Assessment recommendations, based on a phased-in approach.
    • Play a lead role in completing specific tasks of the approved project plan.
    • Be the lead project manager to implement the recommendations by coordinating and working with others to complete their tasks.
    • Work with other members of the I&A team to coordinate overall corporate continuous improvement and modernization initiatives.
