As a Senior Procurement Specialist working in the Major Projects team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support new and ongoing project growth and challenge industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will manage the bid to procure cycle for purchase of specialized equipment, materials, subcontracts and services success.

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $97,000 - $131,000. Please note that salaries may vary depending on the candidate’s experience and geographical location. Listed compensation is exclusive of bonus and in addition to our extensive employee benefits program which is listed above. Availability of certain benefits may vary based on the specific job role.

As a Senior Procurement Specialist working in the Major Projects team at Pomerleau Construction, you will support new and ongoing project growth and challenge industry standards with your trade-driven expertise and knowledge. Working on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will manage the bid to procure cycle for purchase of specialized equipment, materials, subcontracts and services success.
What You Will Do
- Demonstrates good understanding and working in a Project management environment.
- Demonstrate good understanding of Project budget and schedule.
- Participate in assessing requirements of forthcoming packages, contribute in developing
- Construction work packages (CWP's), specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased.
- Communicate with subcontractors and negotiate terms of contract terms, delivery and ensuring scheduled deadline while on budget.
- Invite tenders, consult with suppliers and review and quotations.
- Determine or negotiate contract terms and conditions or recommend contract awards award supplier contracts.
- Negotiating with current and potential suppliers in an effort to obtain best price and favourable terms.
- Ensuring compliance with Supply Chain vendor accreditation process.
- Advising project team of critical information, such as specification changes, delivery status, price changes, etc.
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics.
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience in similar role on construction projects
- Supply chain management designation such as SCMP, CSCL, CSCP, or CPSM preferably
- Strong working knowledge of procurement procedures and practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
