Senior Legal Counsel

Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel : RQ 25-17 :

TAQA North is currently searching for a Senior Legal Counsel. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, you will advise the company on legal and compliance matters. We are seeking a candidate who processes a strong legal background and who is also keen to progress their career in a leadership capacity.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Provide timely and strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders on a broad range of commercial legal matters
• Draft, negotiate, review, and interpret contracts and other documents in support of the company’s day-to-day business
• Identify and interpret legislative and/or regulatory changes to support the development of policies and procedures that minimize risk to the company
• Manage ethics and compliance matters including conducting internal investigations in relation to code of conduct, anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, and whistleblower matters
• Manage litigation and relationships with external counsel
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders including Business Development, HSSE, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Land, and Joint Ventures
• Participate in stakeholder engagement initiatives
  
  
  

Your Qualifications:

• Graduate of a recognized law school
• Member of the Law Society of Alberta (or eligible for membership)
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience
• Prior oil & gas industry and/or in-house legal team experience
• Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
