This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto and/or Client office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Contributes to the design, development, and deployment of various projects and initiatives within Splunk to enhance the security posture and capabilities of the Corporate Security team. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
- Assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of Splunk development projects and analytics initiatives in support of investigations, criminal activity and risk mitigation.
- Onboarding data in diverse formats into Splunk from various source systems by defining and configuring data inputs and configuration settings to ensure accuracy and completeness of data
- Develop queries using Splunk SPL based on business requirements, working with large volume datasets to provide comprehensive insights that are thoroughly tested and validated prior to deployment.
- Design and develop dashboards, alerts, reports, and visualizations in Splunk to meet business requirements while ensuring dashboards are user-friendly and results provide actionable insights.
- Provide troubleshooting support by diagnosing and resolving various Splunk-related issues.
- Understand how the Bank s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
- Solid working experience in an analytical role, using expert Splunk SPL query language to create dashboards, algorithms, rules, and/or alerts, preferably in the context of user behavioral analytics and digital fraud analysis.
- Demonstrated ability working with analytical and computing tools, such as like Splunk, Microsoft Power BI, SAS, Java, R, Python, Hadoop, HIVE, Spark, etc.
- Training and/or certifications in Splunk Enterprise Version 7.x and 8.x and Data Analytics would be an asset.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation & communication skills.
- Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate data with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be self-motivated, self-starter, energetic and results-oriented and be committed to adding value to the organization.
- Knowledge of industry trends regarding fraud and experience in fraud detection and prevention is an asset.
