Agilus is recruiting for a Project / Operations Manager (Fire Protection) in the Fire Protection Services Industry in Edmonton, Alberta.


Our client is an established engineering, design, construction, retrofit, and maintenance company that specializes in Fire Protection and Industrial Utilities, and seeks an experienced Project/Operations Manager - Fire Protection to join their Edmonton team.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, management, and accountability to all direct reports; Accountable for the profit and loss for undertaken projects
  • Create and assign KPIs to direct reports to drive results; Conduct visit to maintenance and construction sites in Alberta/TBD
  • Take on the responsibility as the Account Manager to existing regional clients to build and maintain positive client relations; Conduct onsite meetings with clients as required to address issues, ensure client satisfaction, plan projects, etc.
  • Support business development initiatives and activities with new and existing clients; Ensure quality assurance on all work performed; Coach direct reports to grow in their skillsets; Conduct quarterly performance review for direct reports
  • Monitor work progresses and identify delay/issues and work with the team and the client to implement mitigation measures; Resolve questions and concerns raised by employees and clients
  • Participate in weekly management team meetings following the EOS level 10 format; Lead weekly team meetings with direct reports following EOS Level 10 format
  • Strive for continuous improvement for personal growth, systems, inventory management, planning and scheduling, training, fleet and equipment management, LEM processes, etc.; Lead in exemplifying our core values and bridging the gap in communications and engagement between corporate and field operations
  • Initiate team-building events and activities to foster employee engagement; Maintain the professionalism, confidentiality, and image as required by the position


Requirements:

  • Project Management experience will be considered an asset; PMP or MMP designation will be considered an asset.
  • 5-8 years of direct industrial utility and/or fire protection experience; Relevant trade/post-secondary education
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience as an Operations or Service Manager or Superintendent; Extensive knowledge of NFPA, Alberta Fire Code, ABSA
  • Ability to work with a variety of activities including multiple projects occurring simultaneously; Strong commitment to results
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment; Ability to respond positively to pressure
  • Have a leadership style based on the ability to motivate others
  • Have a valid driver license and the willingness to travel to site in the Greater Edmonton area and within Alberta
  • Subject Matter Expert / extensive experience as a Fire Protection Specialist in industrial and maintenance environment is required
