About The Opportunity
Our reputable client has an Immediate requirement for an Intermediate or Senior Firmware Engineer to join their team onsite in Ottawa. This is a great opportunity to be part of a well-established Organization where you will play a critical role in developing firmware for embedded IoT products. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with Embedded products, RTOS, ARM, Bare-Metal, IoT devices and hands-on experience with C Programming language.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with Embedded products, RTOS, ARM, Bare-Metal, IoT devices and hands-on experience with C Programming language.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Developing Embedded firmware that will run on Embedded IoT products
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements
- Design, code, integrate, debug and document software that is scalable, robust, and performant
- Develop new features on an ongoing, incremental basis
- Implement low power algorithms
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Degree from a recognized university or community college with an acceptable specialization in computer, electrical engineering, systems engineering, computer science or information systems
- 5+ years of experience developing embedded software in C and RTOS (FreeRTOS preferred)
- Knowledge of ARM/INTEL based microcontrollers and Board level development
- Experience with communications protocols, such as TCP/IP, BLE, SPI, UART/RS232, RS485, I2C,
- Experience with Bare-metal, Wireless, Bluetooth, GPS, RF, LoRa technologies will make someone standout
- Strong team player, collaborative, self sufficient, able to work
