Position: Production Supervisor (Meat/Poultry)

As the Cut & Pack Supervisor, you will play a crucial leadership role on the production floor, overseeing daily operations for poultry further processing. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield and labor productivity by refining production processes and providing ongoing training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold full commitment to Food Safety and Quality standards, driving continuous enhancements in food safety and quality management.
  • Hold team members accountable and monitor performance using key metrics.
  • Implement the operational plan effectively.
  • Optimize labor utilization through workforce planning and job rotation.
  • Ensure compliance with CFIA, OH&S, and other relevant regulatory bodies affecting plant operations.
  • Monitor productivity and yield, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Analyze production and quality data to identify issues and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Correct discrepancies in production inventory.
  • Inspect outgoing shipments for damages or defects, document issues, and report shortages to supervisors.
  • Verify accuracy of bills of materials and report discrepancies with finished goods SKUs.
  • Ensure all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, reporting any operational concerns.
  • Maintain a consistent presence on the production floor to provide immediate feedback, resolve issues, and guide production to meet goals.
  • Focus on cost control and efficiency, collaborating with the Continuous Improvement team on process enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, independent judgment, organizational skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
