TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for a MANUFACTURING FLOOR LEAD for an Edmonton area-based opportunity. This is a permanent position with our client. The ideal candidate will be actively engaged in hands-on, physical work, primarily on the production floor.


Job Description:


  • Perform heavy physical tasks, including lifting and moving items over 40 lbs. regularly.
  • Operate equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment. - Complete necessary paperwork related to inventory and production as needed (approximate 10% of the role).
  • Executing training requirements and provide ongoing coaching to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
  • Overseeing the manufacturing facility to meet and exceed daily production targets.
  • Leading and mentoring a team, fostering an environment that encourages growth, engagement, and high performance.
  • Monitoring and adjusting process parameters to ensure operational control and maintaining product quality.
  • Coordinating with maintenance and other departments to minimize downtime for repairs and maintenance.
  • Providing supervisory coverage for other areas during backshifts and weekends.
  • Reporting, documenting, and addressing safety incidents promptly in accordance with company policies.


Job Requirements:


  • Ability to work on the floor for the majority of the shift (approximately 90% of the time).
  • Strong physical fitness and capability to engage in repetitive heavy lifting.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a supervisory/management role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Able to work on a rotational shift schedule, combination of dayshift and nightshift, 12-hour shifts.
  • Experience supervising in a unionized environment an asset.
  • The ability to utilize tools and resources to confidently and independently make difficult decisions.
  • Able to organize, set priorities and work to tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence and a positive, team-based attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
