TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for a MANUFACTURING FLOOR LEAD for an Edmonton area-based opportunity. This is a permanent position with our client. The ideal candidate will be actively engaged in hands-on, physical work, primarily on the production floor.
Job Description:
- Perform heavy physical tasks, including lifting and moving items over 40 lbs. regularly.
- Operate equipment and machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment. - Complete necessary paperwork related to inventory and production as needed (approximate 10% of the role).
- Executing training requirements and provide ongoing coaching to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
- Overseeing the manufacturing facility to meet and exceed daily production targets.
- Leading and mentoring a team, fostering an environment that encourages growth, engagement, and high performance.
- Monitoring and adjusting process parameters to ensure operational control and maintaining product quality.
- Coordinating with maintenance and other departments to minimize downtime for repairs and maintenance.
- Providing supervisory coverage for other areas during backshifts and weekends.
- Reporting, documenting, and addressing safety incidents promptly in accordance with company policies.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to work on the floor for the majority of the shift (approximately 90% of the time).
- Strong physical fitness and capability to engage in repetitive heavy lifting.
- Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- 5+ years of experience working in a supervisory/management role in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Able to work on a rotational shift schedule, combination of dayshift and nightshift, 12-hour shifts.
- Experience supervising in a unionized environment an asset.
- The ability to utilize tools and resources to confidently and independently make difficult decisions.
- Able to organize, set priorities and work to tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
- High degree of emotional intelligence and a positive, team-based attitude.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
