We are looking for a talented and creative Copywriter to join our marketing team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for writing and a strong desire to grow their skills in digital and print copywriting. As a Copywriter, you will assist in crafting compelling, SEO-optimized content across a variety of marketing materials such as advertisements, social media posts, blog content, email campaigns, and website copy. You will work closely with the marketing team and designers to help create engaging content that drives engagement and supports business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in brainstorming and developing creative ideas for marketing campaigns.
• Write clear, concise, and engaging copy for various marketing materials, including digital ads, social media posts, blog content, email newsletters, and website copy.
• Help create SEO-optimized content to improve search engine rankings and drive organic traffic.
• Ensure that content aligns with brand guidelines and adapts to various voices for Just Energy brands (Amigo Energy, Hudson Energy, Just Energy, and Tara Energy).
• Collaborate with the marketing team to support content strategy and campaign goals.
• Work with designers to ensure written content complements visual elements.
• Conduct research to understand target audiences and industry trends.
• Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Support in maintaining content calendars and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Stay updated on industry trends, SEO best practices, and content marketing strategies.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Copywriting portfolio required.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional writing experience (freelance work is also applicable).
• Basic knowledge of SEO principles and keyword optimization.
• Strong storytelling skills with excellent grammar and attention to detail.
• Ability to write for different platforms and adapt to various audiences.
• Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
• Familiarity with content management systems or willingness to learn.
• Enthusiasm to learn about content marketing, email marketing, and SEO.
• Understanding of content marketing principles and CAN-SPAM compliance.
