Binnie is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to join our Surveying team as Vice President, Geomatics. This senior role is responsible for driving growth, fostering innovation, and ensuring technical excellence within our Geomatics division.
As the VP, Geomatics, you will lead a team of dedicated professionals, cultivating a collaborative culture focused on strong working relationships. You bring a future-focused approach to geomatics technology and a proven track record of delivering reliable survey data for both public and private sector projects.

Your Role
Reporting to the COO, the Vice President of Geomatics leads the Engineering Survey and Legal Survey divisions. They plan, direct, and lead the Geomatics Group, providing operational, project, and technical leadership. As part of the Senior Management Team, they set strategic direction for the growth of the business, ensuring excellence and innovation in the pursuit of opportunities and delivery of services.
The Vice President oversees all operational aspects of the Geomatics Group, including leadership, project delivery, quality, client satisfaction, safety, resource allocation, and employee development.

Your Role

Key Responsibilities Of This Position Include
- Lead the strategic development, operational management and business growth of the Geomatics Group across British Columbia and Alberta.
- Provide executive oversight of projects involving land surveying, geospatial data acquisition, GIS, remote sensing, UAV mapping and LiDAR.
- Collaborate with other practice leaders and offices to support integrated, multi-disciplinary project delivery.
- Cultivate strong client relationships and actively participate in business development and contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal and safety standards relevant to geomatics services in BC and Alberta
- Lead the development of a high-performing team of managers and technical professionals.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Participate in corporate leadership initiatives as a member of the Senior Management Team.
- Minimum of 15 years progressive experience in Geomatics, including senior leadership, management, and project management roles.
- Demonstrated success in growing business units and delivering complex projects.
- Excellent understanding of geomatics technologies, workflows and data systems.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong client and industry relationships.
- Business acumen and leadership skills to manage budgets, staff and strategic planning initiatives.
