Area Sales Manager, Packaged Gases (Full Time) - Delta, BC (Starting salary of $115,000/yearly)

Reporting to the General Sales Manager, this position is responsible for all Linde Canada Inc. Packaged Gases sales in the British Columbia Region. The goal of this position is to ensure that budgeted sales and margin goals are met or exceeded for the targeted area of responsibility utilizing your outside sales team as well as a network of Industrial Sales Representatives.

Major Responsibilities

Working with your outside sales team you will be required to:

  • Ensure that outside sales people have the right mix of existing and targeted business and assist them in sales volume and growth in line with their respective regional business objectives
  • Accountable for training and coaching all sales representatives and provide professional development on an ongoing basis
  • Develop plans and strategies for developing new business and achieving the company’s sales goals
  • Discuss target and top accounts regularly with outside sales people
  • Responsible for setting specific objectives to develop a cohesive and profitable marketing strategy for our company
  • Make joint calls with outside sales people and coach them in better sales skills
  • Maintain and manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Evaluate the customer service skills and knowledge of team and ensure that they receive the appropriate training
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and staff and to develop key relationships

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 5 years’ experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High level of knowledge of the gases industry is preferred
  • Experienced in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy in an industrial or welding environment
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from upper management, clients, and staff and general public
  • Demonstrated strong decision making and leadership skills
  • Lead, develop and mentor sales team to achieve a high performance, team-oriented environment
  • Advanced ability to attain goals and objectives through delegating and managing teams
  • Must have high aptitude of independence with an adaptable and flexible demeanor
  • Proficient with computers; including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Possess a valid driver license
