Bilingual Administrator

This position is 100% in-office.
Hours: 8:30am – 4:30pm with rotational Wednesday, 12pm – 8pm and Saturday, 9am – 12pm shifts every 12-16 weeks.
The Administrator’s job functions include processing of employer benefit contributions reports and maintaining enrollment data of benefit plan participants as specified by client Collective Bargaining Agreements, contract specifications and the benefit plan summary. He or she ensures contribution reports are verified for accuracy in order to determine benefit plan entitlements for members, identify employer payment irregularities, initiate collection efforts and carry out delinquency procedures
The Bilingual Administrator will:
Learn and understand the applicable Collective Agreements. Receive employer contribution reports on daily basis, and ensure payments accurately match to report
Balance and audit reports, confirming hours, rates, calculations, and additional information. Process company adjustments on the MEBS system. Detailed analysis of employer reporting is required to ensure accuracyGenerate and analyze various reports to identify and reconcile any company imbalances or irregularities. Respond to enquiries from Union representatives, companies and members regarding eligibility, vacation pay and other issues
Assist union representatives’ enquiries regarding company, and member reports
Request and distribute cheques from Accounting Department at month end
Assist employers to complete documentation and reports for submission to BPA
Process benefit self-payments from members. Review payments to ensure accuracy and follow up with discrepancies
Enter data on remittance reports submitted by companies, when required
Follow up with members on NSF cheques for self-payments
Run various monthly queries to assist in monthly reporting
To be successful as a Bilingual Administrator with BPA, you will need:
Fluency in English as well as at least one of Portuguese, Spanish or Italian
Exposure to office administration and clerical processes particularly related to data analysis, and account reconciliation
PC proficient with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word skills essential)
Knowledge of accounting practices a definite asset
Demonstrated mathematical aptitude
Minimum secondary school graduate, post secondary education preferred
The ability to organize and prioritize workload
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
The ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
