What you’ll do:
- Maintain accurate financial records using Xero accounting software
- Manage employee expense, accounts payable and receivable processes
- Oversee semi-monthly payroll processes, including periodic WCB and WSBC filings
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Monitor credit card transactions
- Cash flow management and forecasting
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately
- Manage capital asset reporting and depreciation schedules
- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Assist with year-end tax filing preparation as required
What you bring:
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
- Proficiency in cloud based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks)
- Ability to manage daily financial transactions
- Experience with account reconciliations
- Experience with intercompany transactions
- Solid understanding of financial regulations and compliance
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner with various stakeholders
- 3-5 years of experience in a senior accountant or bookkeeping role for a small- to medium-sized organization
- Experience in forestry or manufacturing industries is considered an asset
- CPA designation is considered an asset
- Xero experience is considered an asset
