Operations Business Analyst

12 Month Contract

How does the role impact the organization?

This role involves collaborating with all functional areas of the Operations department to evaluate and implement process improvements, enhance service delivery and seek opportunities for automation. The incumbent will provide business insights using data analytics, assist with budget, financials, and trade analysis, and serve as the main point of contact for print and trade vendors to ensure consistent service delivery and product enhancements. The role requires documenting all process improvements and implementing change management for process changes. This role is also key contributor to the annual budget process, reviewing and analyzing variances throughout the year, and providing backup support to other analysts while synthesizing key performance data.

What will your role be responsible for?

  • Vendor management responsibilities, building relationships and keeping processes running smoothly. Work also includes addressing any vendor service issues as they arise, implementing and testing any changes to services, having regular meetings, and working to improve our services in the best interest of the firm and our clients.
  • Responsible for the monthly statement testing and production cycles, and troubleshooting any issues related to our print vendors
  • Participate in the data processing budget and update, analyze and perform variance analysis on actuals.
  • Develop technical solutions utilizing Microsoft suite and approved IT tools to create process improvements and automation in Operations following lean methodology.
  • Utilize technical knowledge, analytical skills and creative thinking to make recommendations for technology solutions to efficiency issues (i.e. utilize data from the warehouse in processes, write macros/key board macros/scripts, update/adjust existing scripts, create automation)
  • Translate data into valuable insights which are actionable and lead to business decisions, reduced costs and improved operational efficiencies.
  • Writing use-cases for potential process improvements for departments throughout Operations and successfully implement the solution.
  • Create and maintain documentation supporting process improvements implemented and dashboards deployed;
  • Prepare monthly trade analysis and key performance measures tracker and make recommendations on how to improve these.

Educational/ Previous Experience Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required (ie. Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Data Sciences etc);
  • Strong data analysis skills and ability to provide efficient management summaries
  • Accounting knowledge to create budgets, variance analysis, and for monthly trade reporting.
  • Proficiency in business process concepts (i.e. workflow diagrams/ process mapping techniques, documentation of processes) and lean methodology.
  • Subject matter expertise in the Operations function of a financial services organization is an asset.
  • Nice to have: Demonstrated capabilities and experience with data cleansing, modeling and analytics; and
  • Nice to have: SQL, Excel/VBA/keyboard macros, PowerQuery, and PowerBI/PowerBI server and DAX skills
  • Nice to have: ServiceNow implementation and administrative experience

Salary Range: BC (based on Education, Work Experience, etc.) $70,000-$90,000 in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
