As a Mechanical and Electrical Coordinator, you manage several activities and deadlines to gain a clearer picture of client, team and project needs. This role is required on-site in Moosonee on a 14/7 rotation schedule.

What You Will Do

  • You will act proactively to identify and mitigate risks before they arise, keeping the project on track.
  • Your role will include assisting with document control, meeting minutes, and MEP quality assurance items to ensure smooth communication and execution.
  • Managing relationships with MEP trade partners will be a key responsibility, fostering trust and long-term collaboration.
  • You will oversee the document process, assisting with the review and approval of MEP shop drawings to maintain compliance.
  • Conducting inspections of MEP work and equipment arrivals will be part of your duties, along with creating reports and tracking deficiencies to uphold quality standards.
  • You will support efforts to ensure IPAC requirements are met, keeping the project aligned with regulations.
  • Assisting in the preparation and validation of construction schedules and commissioning will be a critical aspect of your role, including technical reviews of specialty shop drawings.
  • You will monitor construction progress to ensure adherence to the schedule and promptly identify any challenges that could impact commissioning.
  • Being on-site, you will assist in managing day-to-day MEP operations and provide support to the site staff to facilitate smooth workflow.
  • Ensuring quality and commissioning plans from MEP trade partners are properly executed will be a key focus of your work.
  • You will help drive the commissioning process, including coordinating with the third-party commissioning agent on-site to ensure efficient execution.
  • Your role will require participation in meetings as needed by the MEP Operations Leads or the Project Manager, contributing valuable insights and support.

This role could be for you if you have

  • 3-5 years of mechanical and electrical experience in the construction industry;
  • A University Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and industry experience;
  • A proven track record of mechanical and electrical coordination and team collaboration;
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong computer skills with enthusiasm for innovation;
  • Knowledge of the Toronto market and ability to work throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
