Senior Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer

Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineer in the Engineering/Fabrication Industry in Calgary, Alberta.

Our EPC client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems and instrumentation for our industrial processes. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, control systems, and instrumentation technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, evaluate, and resolve issues related to electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical control systems, as well as instrumentation, automation platforms, devices, and supporting equipment.
• Prepare equipment specs and recommendation for bid review analysis.
• Design equipment layout, control schematic and writing diagram for Control System specifications.
• Understanding of and experience with Loop diagrams, I/O writing, instrument selection, PLC control programming, HMI programing.
• Experience with cost estimating, reviewing, evaluating and submitting bids.
• Knowledge working with project controls to establish schedules.
• Resolve issues with construction.
• On site start up and commissioning.
  
  

Successful Candidates Will Have

• Experience as an electrical, instrumentation and controls engineer/designer for modular process skids or packaged equipment.
• Degree/Technical diploma in Electrical and/or Instrumentation Design/Drafting.
• Experience with high, medium, and low voltage Instrumentation and Controls system design.
• minimum of 15 years’ experience or combined experience in one or all of the disciplines listed below, with a balanced mix of in-office and in-field experience.
• Facility electrical design - create and review single line diagrams.
• Instrument specification and installation.
• Controls’ programming, various control systems.
• Hands-on plant commissioning - ideally in mining or industrial water treatment Development of EIC standards and procedures.
