Fueling Brains Education Services delivers high-quality early intervention programs for children accessing Program Unit Funding (PUF) and Mild/Moderate (MM) support at Fueling Brains Academy centers across Calgary and Strathmore.
Our goal is to support optimal brain development in the early years through multidisciplinary collaboration, family engagement, and play-based therapeutic interventions.
We are currently hiring a Summer Therapy Practitioner to join our growing Therapy & Inclusion team. This role is ideal for students and recent graduates in the fields of Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related discipline.
Key Responsibilities
This Position Is a Part Of The Canada Summer Jobs Program With Funding Provided By Service Canada. Candidates Must Meet The Following Eligibility Requirements To Be Considered:
This Position is 35 Hours per Week, Monday-Friday.
The Position will start on July 2nd - August 22nd.
Candidates need to commit to this 8 week schedule as per Canada Summer Jobs eligibility.
Location - Fueling Brains Academy, Walden Campus.

Key Responsibilities
- Program Implementation: Assist in the delivery of early intervention programs for children with developmental delays or disabilities.
- Individualized Support: Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual developmental needs and goals.
- Assessment & Documentation: Participate in developmental assessments and maintain detailed progress records.
- Family Communication: Collaborate with families to share updates and strategies that support children's growth at home.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside therapists, educators, and program coordinators to deliver holistic services.
- Behavioral Support: Follow behavior support strategies and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Personal Care Support: Assist children with personal care tasks as required to ensure comfort and well-being.
- Play & Engagement: Lead developmentally appropriate play-based learning activities that encourage peer interaction.
- Safety & Supervision: Ensure a safe and nurturing environment at all times during classroom and transition periods.
- Adaptability: Adjust approaches based on child needs and demonstrate flexibility in dynamic situations.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and team meetings as part of your summer learning experience.
This Position Is a Part Of The Canada Summer Jobs Program With Funding Provided By Service Canada. Candidates Must Meet The Following Eligibility Requirements To Be Considered:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protections has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Legally entitled to work according to relevant provincial legislation and regulations (international students on a work/study permit are not eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs Program)
- Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree/diploma program in:
- Early Childhood Education
- Psychology
- Special Education
- Child & Youth Care, or a related field
- Coursework in child development or early intervention practices is highly preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and inclusive education practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues
- Flexibility to work in different early learning environments (classrooms, sensory spaces, therapy rooms)
- Valid Alberta driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Current (within 6 months) Police Clearance and Vulnerability sector check
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform tasks such as kneeling, crawling, or standing for extended periods
- Regular use of hands, hearing, and vision in an active environment
- Emotional resilience and ability to remain calm in high-energy or unexpected situations
- Exposure to childhood illness, noise, and occasionally bodily fluids
- Occasional extended or irregular work hours based on programming needs
