Job Profile: Manager, Finance FP&A, Super.Market

Reports to: Director, Finance FP&A, Super.Market

Role Mandate:

This position plays a key role in providing financial support to the Super.Market division and is responsible for assisting in the development of the divisional forecasts and budgets. The successful candidate will contribute to the Finance team’s ability to provide insights to the business and aid with the achievement of financial targets while working closely with Super.Market leadership as well as the Regional and Corporate Finance teams.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide financial planning and analytical support to the retail division including variance analysis, reporting, identification of risks/opportunities, etc
  • Support the periodic financial close and forecasting process by consolidating data from multiple teams and providing insights on financial performance, gaps and plan/forecast variance analyses
  • Prepare and distribute periodic operational financial summaries to senior leadership and in accordance with corporate financial reporting mandates
  • Provide support for the annual planning and budgeting process
  • Prepare key financial and operational KPI reporting to senior leadership and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making
  • Management and tracking of the division’s capital budget, including approvals, forecasting, and reporting
  • Monitor competitor and industry performance and conduct organizational benchmarking to help drive thought leadership around relative performance
  • Developing strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships to support initiatives and alignment of objectives
  • Participate in special projects and tracking of strategic initiatives as assigned
  • Ad-hoc reporting and investigation of performance anomalies

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Finance experience
  • Post-secondary education in Finance or related field is required
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with PowerPoint
  • Ideal candidate would have (or be pursuing) an accounting/finance designation
  • Experience with the following is an asset:
    • EPBCS/Oracle
    • SAP
    • business intelligence (BI) tools such as MicroStrategy

  • Strong initiative and business acumen, with an ability to focus on continuous improvement and an eagerness to learn
  • Ability to work with and manipulate large volumes of data and translate into meaningful and insightful reporting
  • Results-oriented and critical thinking skills
