WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Role:
The Supply Chain Analyst is permanent full-time role located in the Calgary Head Office responsible for supporting the supply chain department by gathering data, analyzing processes, and helping to improve efficiency and reduce costs. This role will bring strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of data management principles and attributes that connect our business functions, specifically the ERP system, as well as internal planning models (Microsoft Excel). Success in this position is essential to upholding STEP’s commitment to an Exceptional Employee Experience and an Exceptional Client Experience, and depends on a strong focus on efficiency, accountability, and effective communication.
Responsibilities:
Data Stewardship
- Maintain and update vendor master data, parts and other purchased catalog.
- Enforce data governance policies to ensure consistency and quality.
Supply Chain Analytics
- Analyze or help gather supply chain KPIs such as delivery times, cost per unit, inventory turnover, etc.
- Forecast demand and supply to ensure adequate stock levels esp. of raw materials.
- Evaluate vendor performance using metrics like best rates and delivery time.
- Analyze and optimize replenishment.
- Analyze freight costs and identify opportunities for savings.
Category Management – RFP/RFQ Initiation
- Initiate Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) using category management methodologies.
- Analyzing category spend, define sourcing strategies, develop scope and evaluation criteria, coordinate stakeholder input and drafting RFP/RFQ documents.
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Assist in producing data for new suppliers and negotiating contracts.
- Track and manage purchase orders and requisitions to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Create and maintain workflow processes in supply chain management systems.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare regular supply chain performance reports for management.
- Document and maintain records of procurement activities and vendor contracts.
- Generate insights into spend analysis, cost savings, and efficiency improvements.
- Perform other related duties as required to support team and organizational success.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or a related field is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in an Analyst and/or Category Management focused role.
- Previous exposure/experience to creating RFP/RFQ an asset.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with a collaborative approach to working within team environments.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced operational setting.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (with an advanced knowledge on Excel), with experience using ERP systems considered a strong asset.
- Strong sense of prioritization and adaptability, with the ability to respond to shifting demands, urgent tasks, and changing project needs as they arise.
