Job Description:

On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking an experienced ERP Project Manager to lead a strategic two-phase Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) consulting engagement. The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact, overseeing deliverables, stakeholder engagement, and coordination with the client’s steering committee and leadership team. The project includes gap analysis, requirements gathering, market scan, RFP development, and implementation roadmap. Reporting to Affinity’s Project Director, the Project Manager will ensure compliance with Canadian trade agreements and alignment with municipal goals.


Responsibilities:

• Project Leadership:

o Manage Phase 1 (gap assessment, requirements, market scan) and Phase 2 (RFP development, implementation roadmap), ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and budget.

o Develop and execute a detailed work plan with tasks and milestones, as required by the project scope.

o Provide bi-weekly virtual status updates to the steering committee and facilitate in-person milestone reviews with the leadership team.

• Stakeholder Engagement:

o Lead stakeholder workshops with business functions (HR, payroll, procurement, asset management, customer service, community development) to gather requirements.

o Foster collaboration with the client’s internal project team to ensure transparency and alignment.

• Deliverables Management:

o Oversee gap analysis of legacy systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP, CentralSquare Diamond) and market scan of ERP solutions.

o Advise the client’s procurement team on neutral RFP scope development and evaluation criteria.

o Guide development of a prioritized requirements list, risk matrix, and phased implementation roadmap.

• Risk and Quality Control:

o Create a risk matrix and mitigation strategies for staffing or scope challenges.

o Ensure deliverables meet project quality standards and trade agreement compliance.

• Team Management:

o Lead a team of two consultants (ERP Functional Analyst, Business Analyst), assigning tasks and ensuring resource availability.


Qualifications:

• Experience:

o 10+ years in ERP consulting, with 7+ years leading municipal or public sector ERP projects (e.g., financials, HR, utility billing).

o Proven expertise in gap analyses, market scans, RFP advisory, and implementation roadmaps.

o Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and modern ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite).

• Education and Certifications:

o Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or related field; MBA preferred.

o PMP certification required.

o Prosci Change Management certification is an asset.

• Skills:

o Exceptional project management and work plan development.

o Strong facilitation skills for virtual and in-person workshops.

o Effective communication with non-technical stakeholders (e.g., leadership team).

o Knowledge of public sector procurement and Canadian trade agreements.

o Proficiency in tools like Microsoft Teams, Miro, and SharePoint.
