Responsibilities
- Acts as functional human resources manager of Project Managers and/or Business Analysts; setting clear expectations, coaching, motivating, leading, providing advice and day to day support to staff in relation to the performance of their roles and including the recruitment of new staff.
- Has accountability for the work that falls under their portfolio.
- Supports the design, development and implementation of strategic plans, helps determine business priorities, resource requirements and sequencing for execution.
- Establishes strong productive relationships with key critical teams and stakeholders.
- Acts as the key liaison with their respective business unit for:
- Awareness of all new projects/programs in the pipeline or plan;
- Project prioritization with business units, if required;
- Optimization of the sequencing and timing of approved projects based on resource constraints and dependencies with business units; and,
- Supporting the annual capital planning process for their portfolio
- Drives and manages CC&D resources for initiatives raised outside of capital plan
- Maintains awareness of the in-flight initiatives under their team, including an understanding of project health and status and key accomplishments
- Acts as a point of escalation for any initiative under their mandate to resolve blocking issues
- Identifies systemic risks in the portfolio and raises to senior leadership if required
- Recommends and implements ongoing strategies to improve CC&D resource management and engagement
- Provides guidance, support and leadership to CC&D colleagues and assists the CC&D leadership as required
- Acts as project manager for up to 50% of their time and ensures the project activities follow the applicable enterprise project delivery standards.
- 5 to 7 years of business analysis experience
- 7 to 10 years progressive project delivery experience including roles managing directs and indirect resources
- 5 to 7 years of demonstrated people leadership / management experience
- Post-secondary education, with a focus on accounting, finance, information/data sciences, IT or business, is an asset
- Holds a valid PMP designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
- Strong experience collaborating/consulting with business leaders
- Strong relationship management skills and builds trust across organizational levels
- Ability to establish a positive team culture
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes
- Strong presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate with executives and leaders across the organization
- Detail oriented, analytical with solid organizational skills and the ability to manage ambiguity
- Understanding of custody, asset servicing, fund accounting, and industry regulatory requirements, is an asset
- Strong ability to execute and drive a project including stakeholder management, financial tracking, delivery on scope, time and cost
- Robust problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
